play the E(no 3rd) chord first, leave the top two strings ringing while start
the riff, but when I get to the C (3rd fret, A string) play the whole C chord
instead of just one note. Strum this C a little, then finish the riff.
On the last note of the riff (E) you can start strumming the E chord Again

Strum this for a while then move it down one fret
Strum a bit more, then move it back up one
I can't remember for sure, but I think the shape is moved up and down several
times, sometimes just by one fret, sometimes two.

When you've had enough of that, play the shape at the 6th position for long
enough for your ears to scream (what a lovely dissonance!) then move it to
it's resting place i.e at the 7th position
